Good News: Welcoming Our Executive Director

After prayer and consideration, the Board of Directors is proud to announce the selection of Dale Brown as Executive Director (ED) for Texas Reach Out. As Interim ED he has been successful in furthering the ministry, and the Board is confident that he will continue carrying out the legacy created by David and Margie.

Letter from Dale Brown
Executive Director

It has been my privilege to serve as Interim Executive Director for the past several months. There is no doubt that God has been mightily at work through Texas Reach Out and the vision He gave David and Margie over 20 years ago. We see the amazing results of two people faithfully and obediently following His call upon their lives.

Through these years, God has transformed the lives of hundreds of formerly incarcerated men and women. Those hundreds of people have, in turn, touched thousands more. This is the testimony of obedience to God's call to David and Margie and through you who have so faithfully served through these years.

In this Christmas season we are re-awakened to the startling fact that God loved us too much to leave us in the mess we made for ourselves. Jesus, the very Son of God, voluntarily left the glories of heaven to slum it out with us for a long long time, experiencing everything we experience and through his life, living a life of complete obedience. Our God who sent His Son is also sending us into people's messes. Our sending God sends us!

Life is dark because we have made it that way through sin. The people we serve have made their share of mistakes and committed their share of sins as we all have. But the answer to the darkness is not always to try to explain it, but to shine a light into it. If you are involved in any way in Texas Reach Out, you are a beam of God's light shining into darkness.

We believe that in the end, the light wins--light overcomes darkness. We who work with our residents see this victory every day in their lives. Our residents have embraced Christ and are committed to follow the Apostle Paul's personal life mission:

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3: 12-14

Thank you for your continued commitment to Texas Reach Out. We have been through a hard time of loss and transition, but God IS the Rock. He is firm and steadfast, and He loves this ministry even more than we do. Because of His faithfulness, Texas Reach Out is strong and steady, poised for the next phase of growth.

In God's Love,
Dale Brown

We pray that you and your families stay safe
during this holiday season.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
